Highlights from Kegs & Canvas at Fowlers Heritage Company

Surrounded by adorable clothing, sipping a caramel latte from Stumbeanos, and playing with watercolors. I had the opportunity to meet and greet many of the people coming through – one of them was new to the area and looking to get into the art scene, another went through the Graphic Design & Communications programs at BSC and had heard about my work through one of my professors, friends and family stopped by to share smiles and hugs, and others were mostly there for the hard cider. Fowlers was a fun location to draw, the ambiance was great and the company was even better.

Fall is here!

I don’t know about you, but for me it’s the season of a good spicy Chai latte. Mmmm.

Speaking of lattes, I’ve got a new trio of hand painted tea cups that will be for sale at Kegs & Canvas this Thursday where I’ll be drawing at Fowlers from 5-9pm – downtown Fargo.

Why hand painted tea cups? Well, product illustration and design is something that really interests me. I like to surround myself with things that make my day brighter. And some days it’s grabbing a cute tea cup out of the cupboard that does just that.

It’s not just tea cups though. It’s the fabric of your pillow case, it’s a print on your wall, it’s your shower curtain, it’s a card you picked out especially for someone, it’s your calendar, it’s your phone cover, a bumper sticker, a magnet, a temporary tattoo, the dust jacket that convinced you to buy your favorite book, and so much more. These are all every day things that can be made beautiful, whimsical, and treasured by the touch of an artist. I’d like to be that artist.
